Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 29, 2026 · Last updated: July 19, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Suriyen LLC ("Yantara," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Yantara mobile application and related services (the "Service").

Plain-language summary

Yantara is a motorcycle navigation and ride companion app. We use your information to provide navigation, route planning, weather alerts, group rides, voice features, safety features, and account support. AI assistant features ("RIA") are optional and off by default — nothing goes to our AI provider unless you turn AI on and use it. Yantara is free for this release: we do not enable advertising, sponsored placements, or third-party tracking, and we do not sell your personal information. We may also use your email address to send account and service messages and — unless you opt out — occasional product updates, release announcements, beta invitations, and feedback requests; promotional emails always include an unsubscribe link.

01 Information We Collect

Account and profile information

We collect information you provide when creating and managing your account, including:

For this release, avatar photo upload and camera capture are disabled. Profile surfaces use initials and/or bike glyphs instead.

Location and ride data

Yantara uses precise location to provide core app functionality, including:

Yantara may use background location only while navigation or a group ride is active. This allows navigation to remain current when the screen is locked and allows group ride positions to remain fresh while riders carry the phone in a pocket. You can revoke location access in your device settings, but core navigation and group ride features will not work without location.

Motion and safety data

Yantara may read device motion sensors, such as accelerometer and device-motion data, to support on-device riding telemetry and crash/SOS features. Motion sensor readings are processed on the device and are not uploaded to Yantara servers. If a crash alert is triggered and the rider does not cancel it, Yantara may prepare a user-visible SMS with the rider's last known GPS location, time, and rider label for the rider's configured emergency contact.

Voice, speech, and audio features

If you enable or use voice features, Yantara may access the microphone and on-device speech recognition (including iOS speech recognition) to process:

Voice and speech processing happens on-device. Local push-to-talk voice commands work without AI consent and send no data to our AI provider. Voice features are optional — you can avoid them by not granting microphone/speech permissions or by disabling related settings. Yantara does not use microphone access while the app is backgrounded except where the operating system permits an active foreground audio/voice feature.

User content

Yantara may collect content you create or submit, including:

For this release, user-created scenic routes are private to the signed-in rider unless a future release explicitly changes that behavior.

Operational and diagnostic data

We may collect operational data needed to run, debug, and improve the Service, such as:

We do not collect advertising identifiers, and we do not use device fingerprinting or third-party tracking for advertising.

02 How We Use Information

We use information to:

We may aggregate or de-identify information and use it to understand feature performance, improve navigation, routing, scenic recommendations, weather-aware and safety features, and RIA and voice experiences, diagnose reliability and performance issues, and conduct product research and planning. We do not attempt to re-identify information that has been properly de-identified, except where needed to test de-identification protections or where permitted by law. Some diagnostic information may still be associated with your account and is treated as personal information.

03 Communications with You

We send two categories of communications.

Service-related communications

These may include sign-in and account verification, account recovery, security alerts, privacy or Terms updates, safety notices, important operational notices, support responses, and critical software or service information. You may continue to receive necessary service-related communications even after you unsubscribe from promotional emails.

Product and promotional communications

These may include release announcements and release notes, new-feature announcements, beta and early-access invitations, rider tips and educational content, product surveys and feedback requests, and community or company news. We aim to contact riders when there is something genuinely useful to share — relevant, occasional, and easy to unsubscribe from. Promotional communications are sent only where permitted by applicable law, each includes an unsubscribe mechanism, and you may opt out at any time. Opting out of promotional communications will not affect essential account or service messages.

04 AI Features (RIA) and Anthropic

Yantara's AI assistant ("RIA") uses one third-party AI service: Anthropic (Claude). Anthropic is the only third-party AI provider Yantara uses.

AI features are optional and off by default. Nothing is sent to Anthropic unless you explicitly opt in and then use an AI feature. Local push-to-talk voice commands (for example, "find gas") work without AI consent and send no data to Anthropic — that speech is processed on-device.

When you opt in and use an AI feature, the following may be sent to Anthropic to answer your request:

How it is handled. AI requests are sent over HTTPS through a backend proxy that validates your session. Your account ID is not forwarded to Anthropic. We rely on Anthropic's Commercial/API terms, under which API customer content is not used to train Anthropic's models; we do not opt into any model-training or data-improvement use, and we do not sell rider data. The specific AI model may change over time. AI responses may be inaccurate and should not be relied on as the sole basis for decisions affecting safety, finances, or property.

You can disable AI anytime in Settings → Assistant, and you can clear your RIA conversation history in the app.

05 Maps and Mapbox Analytics

Maps in Yantara are powered by Mapbox. Separate from the functional GPS used for routing and navigation, the Mapbox maps SDK can collect anonymized app-usage and approximate-location telemetry for analytics.

The functional location data Mapbox needs to draw maps and provide directions is described in "How We Share Information" below and is separate from this optional analytics telemetry.

06 How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to provide, secure, and support the Service. Our service providers and what is sent to each:

We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Yantara, riders, or others. We may also transfer information as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy. We may replace or add service providers as the Service evolves, and we will update this Privacy Policy when a material change affects how personal information is handled.

07 No Advertising, Tracking, or Sale of Personal Information

For this release:

Yantara does not use App Tracking Transparency and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We do not link rider data collected in Yantara with data from other companies' apps or websites for advertising or advertising measurement.

08 Device Permissions

Depending on platform and feature use, Yantara may request:

Yantara does not capture from the camera and does not access your photo library in this release. It also does not request audio/video media-library access, overlay/window permission, biometric permission, or billing permission.

09 What We Never Collect or Share

10 Data Retention and Deletion

We retain account information while your account is active. Ride history, private scenic routes, route feedback, group ride records, and related content are retained until deleted by you, deleted through account deletion, or removed under our retention/moderation practices.

You can delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete Account. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize associated personal data, except where retention is required for security, legal, fraud-prevention, backup, or operational reasons.

Some operational cost/performance records may be retained in anonymized or de-identified form. Supabase backups may retain deleted information for a limited backup-retention period before permanent deletion.

Local app data, downloaded maps, and cached files are removed when you uninstall the app or clear related data from the device, subject to platform behavior.

11 Your Choices and Rights

You can:

Revoking required permissions may prevent some app features from working.

12 Community Safety and Moderation

Yantara has zero tolerance for objectionable content, abusive behavior, harassment, threats, hate, sexual content, unsafe conduct, or spam. Riders can report or block other riders from supported group surfaces. We may review reports, group metadata, user-visible profile fields, and related content to enforce our rules, protect riders, and comply with law.

To report urgent abuse or safety concerns, contact support@yantara.app.

13 Children's Privacy

Yantara is intended for adult riders and is not directed to children — not to children under 13 in the United States, and not to children under 16 in the European Union. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

14 International Users

Suriyen LLC is based in the United States. Our backend provider, Supabase, may process and store information in the United States and the European Union, and other service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers. Availability of the Service in a given country may also depend on government approvals, applicable law, and the regional availability and terms of our third-party providers (including Anthropic and others).

15 Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. Where accurate, these may include encryption in transit, access controls, authentication protections, logging and monitoring, and reasonable organizational and administrative controls. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

16 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.

If Yantara later enables paid subscriptions, billing, advertising, sponsored placements, booking/commerce integrations, or other monetization features, we will update this Policy and app-store disclosures before or at the time those features become available.
